You have the opportunity to GIVE THE GIFT of a GREAT FUTURE!
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County is a non-profit, youth development organization, which annually serves over 1,200 children and teens in Lee County.
Each day hundreds of kids and teens walk through the doors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County.
For 43 years the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County have given our young people in need the support, guidance, tools and skills to succeed in life. Our goal is to reach the kids that need us the most and give them an outcome driven club experience that will result in:
Every School day in America 6,000 young people give up on school. In fact, more than one in four young people will fail to graduate with their class this year. BGCLC believes that this is a tragedy, both for the young people who will be unlikely to find stable employment as adults, and for our community, as the health of our economy and our neighborhoods increasingly depends on a well-educated, tech-savvy workforce.
Boys & Girls Clubs provide young people with support and guidance from caring adult mentors who can help them overcome obstacles to academic success. Clubs offer homework assistance, tutoring and academic enrichment activities. Programs in this outcome area are designed to emphasize the importance of academics and support youth success.
Our Club members reveal high expectations for their academic futures. The 2015 National Youth Outcomes Survey asked Club members to report their expectations of academic success by inquiring, “How far in school do you think you will get?” Fully 100% of BGCLC members expect to complete high school; 93% expect to go on to post-secondary education.
If 100% of 2015 members graduate from high school, that would be 1,279 high school graduates, which could add more than $ 265,882,463 to the economy over the course of their lifetimes.
If we realize only 10 percent of that potential, these additional graduates could add $ 26,588,246 to the economy over the course of their lifetimes.
Taxpayers save $9,000 for each student that is not held back a grade.
100% of 12th grade club members graduated high school
96% of club kids progressed to the next grade level on time
88% of club kids are on grade level for their age
73% of caregivers reported improvement in their child’s school performance since
