Born in Franklin Pennsylvania to his parents, George and Anne Van Dyke on July 19,1939
Tom married his high school sweetheart, Barbara (Rummel) on March 21, 1959. They enjoyed 58 wonderful years together.
He was an executive at General Electric for 30 years before moving to American Sterilizer. He went from making locomotives to making bed pans. He retired at 55 years old. Tom was an avid golfer. He had a reputation for never missing a fairway.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Van Dyke of Fort Myers, Florida. His three sons; Steve (Kathy) Van Dyke of Charleston, South Carolina , Thomas Van Dyke of Erie, Pennsylvania, and Tim (Karen) Van Dyke of Huntsville, Alabama. He has four grandchildren; Meagan Van Dyke Slate, Elliot Van Dyke, Logan Van Dyke, and Alexys Van Dyke. He has one great grandson, Shawn Van Dyke.
Services to celebrate his life will be on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 3:00 at The Club of Renaissance.
